Arsenal Fan & Nigeria U17 Star, Olawale Clarifies : I Play Like Pepe Not Ronaldo
Published: December 01, 2019
Nigeria U17 international Peter Olawale has clarified that he models his game after Arsenal record signing Nicolas Pépé and not Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Tripple 44 Football Academy starlet was part of the Golden Eaglets squad that crashed out of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in the round of sixteen, starting their last two matches and scoring once in a 2-1 loss to Australia.
''We didn't expect to drop out in that stage. I am not the coach, so I don't know what went wrong, we all have our own faults. We didn't play well as a team,'' Olawale told allnigeriasoccer.com.
On comparisons with Ronaldo and which player he models his game on, the Golden Eaglets number 12 said : ''I play like Nicolas Pépé not Cristiano Ronaldo. He is fast on the ball and technical also.
''My best position on the pitch is anything that has to do with the striking role. I can play as a striker, support striker, left and right winger.''

''I won't choose the club I support, I want to play for a club that allow me express myself and where I can develop. I am an Arsenal fan''.
Olawale had stops at Osaro FC, Young Stars Lagos and Gidado Football Academy, before joining Tripple 44 Football Academy in 2019.
