'I Know Jamie Is A World Class Striker' - Iheanacho Admits He's Learning From One Of The Best
Published: December 01, 2019
Kelechi Iheanacho was delighted to net his maiden Premier League goal of the 2019-2020 season and produce an assist for the goal scored by Jamie Vardy in Leicester City's hard-fought 2-1 win against Everton.
The former Manchester City striker has found game time hard to come by in the English topflight, with Vardy and Ayoze Pérez ahead of him in manager Brendan Rodgers' pecking order of strikers at the Foxes.
Iheanacho confessed it was tough for him being on the bench and revealed that he's learning from one of the best strikers in the world.
The Leicester City number 14 told Sky Sports after this evening's game at the King Power Stadium : ''I have been waiting for this opportunity, I know one day it's going to come. I have been working hard in training everyday to make sure I keep up to the standard.
''I am happy today, getting a goal and assisting Jamie so today was very good and it was fantastic with the whole team.
''You need to be strong mentally as a football player, it's not easy not getting enough playing time.

Following his strike against Everton, Iheanacho has now scored 13 goals in a Leicester City shirt since arriving the club from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.
