Chelsea Identify One Area Where Osimhen Could Pose A Threat To Blues Defenders
Published: December 10, 2019
Previewing tonight's Champions League Group H match against Lille on their official website, Chelsea have identified one area where Victor Osimhen could pose a threat to The Blues defenders.
Chelsea highlighted that the French Ligue 1 team are planning to play long balls to the Nigeria international, who is expected to spearhead Lille's attack.
When the current Europa League side played Lille on matchday two, Chelsea defenders attempted to nullify Osimhen's aerial threat by preventing him from getting to headers but the Nigerian still won a team-high four aerial duels.
Tammy Abraham gave Chelsea the lead on 22 minutes, only for Victor Osimhen to equalise through a powerful header eleven minutes later.
Chelsea wrote : ''Lille are set up to absorb pressure and break quickly, often with long balls to target man Victor Osimhen. Overall, Chelsea defeated the hosts’ aerial bombardment in the win 2-1 at Stade Piere Mauroy.
''Marcos Alonso won nine headers and Kurt Zouma five, while Osimhen won four.''
Osimhen has scored two of Lille's goals in the Champions League this season but could not prevent the French team from suffering defeats to Chelsea and Valencia.
