Top 5 Youngest Nigerian Players To Score In Champions League As Barcelona's Fati Makes History
Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati became the youngest goalscorer in UEFA Champions League history after he got on the scoresheet against Inter Milan at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (Milano) on Tuesday, December 10, aged 17 years and 40 days.

Fati was 1 year and 102 days younger than Nigeria's goalscorer since the competition was rebranded as the Champions League in the 92-93 season.

Former Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins still holds the record of being the youngest Nigerian player to score in the Champions League, aged 18 years and 142 days when he found the net against Bayer Leverkusen on March 19, 2003.

Against HNK Hajduk Split on March 15, 1995, Nwankwo Kanu then on the books of Ajax Amsterdam, opened the scoring after 34 minutes, making him the second youngest Nigerian to score in the Champions League, aged 18 years, 7 months and 11 days.

In third place is Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who was aged 19 years, 10 months and 2 days when he registered a hat-trick for Maccabi Haifa in a 3-0 rout of Olympiakos on September 24, 2002.

Daniel Amokachi's goal against CSKA Moscow on November 25, 1992 makes him the fourth youngest Nigerian player (19 years, 10 months and 26 days) to score in the competition, while Kelechi Iheanacho completes the top five, aged 19 years, 11 months and 11 days when he scored Manchester City's fourth goal in a 4-0 win vs Borussia Monchengladbach on September 14, 2016.
