Leicester City's Eppiah Continues Resurgence With Goal Against Villarreal
Published: December 19, 2019
Leicester City starlet Josh Eppiah continued his resurgence this season with a brilliant performance for the Development Squad in their 2-1 win against Villarreal in a Premier League International Cup game on Wednesday.
Having missed the whole of the 2018-2019 season due to a back injury, the striker's injury troubles are behind him.
Eppiah was involved in the opening goal scored by the Yong Foxes as George Hirst slotted home a rebound after goalkeeper Josele Martínez parried a drive from the Nigerian in the 24th minute.
Two minutes later, Eppiah doubled Leicester City's advantage but the visitors went into the break only a goal down thanks to a great goal from álex Millán.
The 20-year-old has contributed to eight goals (5 goals, 3 assists) in his last eight matches in all tournaments.
If not for Eppiah's injury problems, he would have been knocking on the first team door as he is highly rated at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City Development squad, who have won nine of their last ten games in all competitions, host Wolverhampton Wanderers in their next match on Friday 3 January, 2020.
