Hoogewerf Scores Four Goals In One Game For Manchester United At International Sparkasse & VGH Cup
Published: January 12, 2020Netherlands U17 international of Nigerian descent, Dillon Hoogewerf is Manchester United's leading scorer at the ongoing International Sparkasse & VGH Cup following the matches that took place on Friday and Saturday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The diminutive striker has registered his name on the scoresheet seven times and he is closely followed by another Nigeria-eligible player in the shape of Shola Shoretire who has six goals to his name.
Hoogewerf's best individual performance so far was netting a double brace as the Red Devils U19 squad thrashed JFV Eichsfeld-Mitte 6-0, and his other three goals came against FC Grone, SV Rosenberg and FC Same.
As for the skillful England U16 international Shoretire, he netted a hat-trick vs FC Same and was also on target in matches against FC Grone, Eintracht Frankfurt and SV Rosenberg.
United have scored 27 goals in total after six matches, with three Nigerian players accounting for more than half of their goals, including Ayodeji Sotona's strike in their opening game.
The youth teams of FC Brügge, Fulham FC, Austria Wien, Hannover 96, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Schalke 04, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hertha BSC, Werder Bremen, Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz are also participating in the tournament.
