15-Year-Old Anglo-Nigerian Striker Finishes As Man Utd's Top Scorer At International Sparkasse & VGH Cup
England U16 international of Nigerian descent, Shola Shoretire finished as Manchester United's top scorer at the International Sparkasse & VGH Cup, overtaking fellow Nigeria-eligible Dillon Hoogewerf before the Old Trafford outfit were knocked out of the tournament.

Needing only a draw to qualify for the quarterfinals, United did not progress after they were beaten 3-0 by Hannover.

Hoogewerf, who was on seven goals at the start of the day, could not add to his tally on Sunday.

In their first match, the Red Devils U19 side played out an eight-goal thriller (4-4) with Werder Bremen, with the 15-year-old Shoretire finding the net on two occasions to take his tally to eight goals.

Zidane Iqbal, Connor Stanley and Omari Forson scored 5, 4 and 3 goals respectively, while Sotona struck once.

Manchester United won the 2017 and 2018 editions of the International Sparkasse & VGH Cup.

Nigerian left-back Idris Odutayo represented Fulham in this year's tournament in Göttingen.
