Ex-Arsenal Striker Akpom Reveals Plan To Force His Way Into The Super Eagles Squad
Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has plans to force his way into the Super Eagles after committing his international future to the three-time African champions.

Born and raised in London, the PAOK star has asked football governing body, FIFA for a one-time change of association, necessitated by the fact that he previously played competitive games for England's U19 and U21 national teams.

With Nigeria having several quality strikers in their ranks, Akpom is aware that he must be a regular starter at PAOK to attract the attention of manager Gernot Rohr.

In an interview with Fox Sports Radio, Akpom explained : "I said I want to play for National Nigeria and this prospect definitely pushes me to try every game of PAOK, to help the club as much as I can.

"That way I'll be able to get to the National Team. First I have to fight to help my team get to the National Nigeria.

"It's not going to be easy, because there are so many young players, but I'm on the default and I hope I get the call soon."

In the current season, Akpom has netted 5 goals in 20 matches for Greek champions PAOK and played in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League and Europa League.
