Chelsea are through to the fifth round of the prestigious FA Youth Cup after thrashing Bradford City 5-0 at Aldershot on Wednesday night.
Goals from Armando Broja, Marcel Lewis (2), Henry Lawrence and substitute Thierno Ballo secured a win for Ed Brand's side.
There was no player of Nigerian descent in the Chelsea squad, with the likes of Faustino Anjorin, goalkeepers Kelechi Chibueze and Prince Adegoke, and fullbacks Jordan Aina and Derrick Abu not selected.
Chelsea's captain for the FA Youth Cup, Anjorin has been inactive since December 18, missing games against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in the Premier League 2, and it has now come to light that the highly-rated midfielder was omitted due to fitness issues.
"There were six changes for Ed Brand’s team tonight as Chelsea shuffled the pack for the return of the FA Youth Cup,'' Chelsea stated on their official website.
"Centre-back Dynel Simeu captained the side in Tino Anjorin’s absence – the midfielder is returning from an injury and found today came too soon to feature."
Anjorin was part of the Chelsea team that won the 2018 FA Youth Cup final against Arsenal.
