Official : Moldovan Champions Sheriff Tiraspol Sign Faith Obilor

With a statement on their official website, Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol have announced the signing of Nigerian defender Faith Obilor.

The length and financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed, but he has joined Sheriff Tiraspol as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with HJK Helsinki in Finland.

In his nine-year stint with Finnish clubs, Obilor also wore the colours of Kemi City, RoPS and FC Inter Turku, and was touted as one of the best defenders in the Veikkausliiga.

Born in Aba, he has appearances under his belt in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League and Europa League - 16 games in total - logging 1,314 minutes.

Former Nigeria internationals Chidi Odiah and Isaac Okoronkwo played for Sheriff Tiraspol before moving to Russia and Ukrainian clubs respectively.

The Wasps, Obilor's new employer, have won the Divizia Naționala title eighteen times since their formation.
