Armenian champions FC Ararat-Armenia have completed the signing of former Atletico Madrid starlet Yusuf Otubanjo.

With a statement on their official website, Austrian Bundesliga side LASK Linz announced the departure of the center forward to the Armenian top division side on Thursday, January 23.

Otubanjo was a member of the Golden Eaglets squad that reached the final of the 2009 FIFA U17 World Cup held in Nigeria, playing as a substitute in two games against New Zealand (round of 16) and Switzerland (final).

After the tournament, he was snapped up by Atletico Madrid before spells at Red Bull Salzburg, FC Pasching, FC Blau-Weiß Linz, Zilina, SC Altach and LASK Linz.

Explaining why Otubanjo was allowed to depart the club, LASK Vice President Mag. Jürgen Werner told the club's official website : "In view of his change request, we didn't want to put any obstacles in Yusuf's way.

"The LASK family thanks him for his commitment to the association. We wish him all the best for his new job!"

The 27-year-old joined LASK in July 2018 and played 33 games for the club, scoring 6 goals while providing seven assists.
