Confirmed : Super Eagles Defender Completes Shock Loan Move To Wigan Athletic
Published: February 01, 2020
Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun made a deadline day move from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion to Wigan Athletic on a five-month loan deal, the Championship club have informed through their official website.
Balogun found playing time difficult to come by at Brighton under managers Chris Hughton and Garry Potter.
Balogun's international and club career seem to be heading for the rocks but now has 17 matches to salvage his career as Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy have been the preferred option in central defence at Brighton.

Wigan also signed another player from the Seagulls as striker Jan Mlaker joined the Latics subject to EFL, Premier League and FA approval.
Balogun however will be unavailable to face Leeds United on Saturday as his registration was concluded way after the 12pm deadline registration time but could face Preston North End next week Saturday.
The Nigeria international signed for Brighton in 2018, having spent his career in Germany, featuring in the Bundesliga for Hannover 96, Werder Bremen, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Mainz 05.
