Swansea City Running The Rule Over Chelsea's Nigerian Defender
Published: February 03, 2020
Swansea City have handed a trial to Chelsea's Nigerian defender Jordan Aina with a view to a transfer, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Swans youth team coaches ran the rule over the younger brother of Super Eagles star Ola Aina during Monday afternoon's Premier League 2 clash against Newcastle United at Landore.
Jordan Aina was one of two trialists that started the game for Swansea City and was deployed in the fullback position.
A former England U16 international, he is in the second year of his scholarship with Chelsea and could depart the Stamford Bridge outfit at the end of the 2019-2020 season if he is not offered a new contract.
He joined Chelsea as an U9, rising through the ranks before making his competitive debut for the U18 squad last season and has appeared on the bench for the U23s in the Premier League 2.
This season, Jordan Aina has made six appearances for Chelsea youth teams in all competitions, including his debut in the UEFA Youth League.
His brother, Ola ended his association with The Blues last summer, joining Torino on a permanent deal following a successful loan spell.
