Why Promising Winger Butler-Oyedeji Was Missing For Arsenal Against Norwich U18s
Published: February 12, 2020Nathan Butler-Oyedeji was left out of the Arsenal U18 side that faced Norwich on Wednesday afternoon, and the reason for his omission has been revealed.
According to Jeorge Bird, the promising winger is down with an unspecified injury, hence the reason for manager Ken Gillard snubbing him for the game at Colney Training Centre this afternoon.
Missing alongside him in Norfolk was also Daniel Oyegoke but the trio of Mazeed Ogungbo, Miguel Azeez and Ryan Alebiousu all started the game against the Canaries, while Tyrese Omotoye was in action for the hosts.
Butler-Oyedeji netted his first goals for the Gunners U18s in a 2-2 draw versus Tottenham Hotspur in October 2019, and has also scored in the Premier League Cup this season.
This will come as a huge setback for the 17-year-old who was recently included in the club's updated Premier League squad list for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.
With three minutes left on the clock, Arsenal were leading 2-1 as at the time of this report.
