Arsenal-Owned Defender Who Wants To Play For Nigeria Makes Professional Debut For Cork City
Arsenal-owned center back Joseph Olowu has made his professional debut for Cork City, seventy-nine days after celebrating his twentieth birthday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Ibadan-born starlet was named in the starting line-up as Cork City suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Shelbourne in their opening SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game on Friday night.

With 12 minutes left on the clock, Olowu came close to scoring his first senior goal but his header went just wide following a cross from the right by O’Connor.

The Hale End Academy product showed his aerial presence throughout the game by winning several headers.

At minute 86, Olowu and his teammates were denied a share of the spoils when Kilduff gave the Reds the lead with a close range header.

Having made his senior debut and committing his international future to Nigeria over England, the humble Olowu has taken the first steps to becoming a future Super Eagles player.

The Nigerian Federation were in touch with him before the U23 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan but he didn't make the squad due to a passport issue.
