Sodje Makes Manchester City U18 Debut In 5-2 Win Against Reading
Promising Nigerian youngster Tai Sodje made his competitive debut for Manchester City U18s as they hammered Reading 5-2 to reach the final of the Premier League Cup on Saturday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Tai comes from a famous footballing family, with uncles Efe and Sam Sodje representing the Super Eagles before hanging up their boots.

In the last switch made by Manchester City's U18 coach Gareth Taylor at Bearwood Park, Sodje replaced Sammy Robinson with seven minutes left on the clock.

Exciting winger Samuel Edozie started for the Citizens and was involved in the third goal scored by his team when
James McAtee slotted home after receiving a pass from the Anglo-Nigerian.

Cole Palmer, Liam Delap and Alex Robertson were Manchester City's other scorers while Imari Samuels and Melvin-Lambert found the net for the home team.

A product of the Sheffield United Academy, Tai Sodje turned down the chance to join Liverpool and Everton before transferring to Manchester City in 2015.

In the final of the Premier League Cup, Manchester City will face Stoke City, who beat Chelsea in the other semifinal.
