Former Barcelona midfielder Andrea Orlandi has revealed that Samuel Chukwueze was a threat when he came off the bench for Villarreal in their 2-1 win against Levante at Estadio de la Cerámica on Saturday evening.
The Nigeria international replaced Villarreal's most expensive signing in history, Paco Alcacer with sixteen minutes remaining and his best moment in the game was when he attempted to lob Levante goalkeeper Aitor Fernandez who was off his line but he missed the target.
Orlandi noted that Chukwueze had more impact than Alcacer, who is still adapting to the team following his move from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.
Speaking on La Liga TV after the game, Orlandi said : "When Samuel Chukwueze came on he created problems on that right hand side, replacing Paco Alcacer.
"Paco Alcacer didn't have his best game. He's still finding his feet at Villarreal.
"Getting back to Europe is the least you can ask for for a team of that quality".
Gerard Moreno opened the scoring for the Yellow Submarine after nine minutes, Borja Mayoral restored parity on 56 minutes before Moi Gomez netted the winning goal just past the hour mark.
Apart from the visit to Leganes on game week four, Chukwueze has been involved in all the matches played by Villarreal in the Spanish top-flight this term.
