Nigerian Striker Likened To Aubameyang Agrees Two New Deals With Manchester City
Published: February 16, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Nigerian striker Tai Sodje has agreed two new deals with English Premier League champions Manchester City ahead of the 2020-2021 season.
Sodje, who has been at Manchester City since 2015, has inked a two-year scholarship with the Etihad Stadium outfit which will come into effect on July 1, 2020.
He is guaranteed to sign a three-year professional contract with the Citizens when his scholarship deal runs out.
The highly-rated teenager received a call-up to Manchester City's U18 team against Reading in the semifinal of the Premier League Cup on Saturday and went on to make his competitive debut as a substitute following his introduction in the closing minutes.
Predominantly a striker, Sodje is comfortable playing as a winger and has drawn comparisons with Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his similar playing style.
Prior to his move to Manchester City, the likes of Newcastle United, Liverpool and Everton expressed interest in the services of the Sheffield United Academy product.
