'I Have Grown Up Playing On The Left Or No 10'- Iwobi On Ancelotti's Tactical Genius
Published: February 20, 2020
Alex Iwobi has revealed that Everton's Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti has unlocked his attacking talent by combining two positions into one.
Predominantly a left winger during his Arsenal days, the Hale End Academy product has recently been handed playmaking duties for club and country.
Speaking to Everton's official website, Iwobi said : "I have grown up playing on the left or as a number 10 and he has combined the two [in one position].
"It feels natural and I am comfortable in the system, it has been bringing the best from me in training.
"The way he [Ancelotti] tells me to come inside is helping my body position, so I receive the ball in a better place [on the field].
"It means my first touch takes me where I should go and I can come infield at the right time to be free and able to turn and play forward.
"He is helping me a lot and I am benefiting in training. I feel I am getting better every day with him."

Iwobi is back to full fitness after spending six weeks on the sidelines following a hamstring injury he suffered in the goalless draw with Arsenal in December 2019.
The Nigeria international will be hoping to score his first goal in more than five months when the Toffees visit the Emirates Stadium this coming Sunday.
