What Ex-Man City, Liverpool Stars Have Said About Penalty Claim Involving Leicester's Iheanacho
Leicester City have only one win in six Premier League games now after losing 1-0 to Manchester City in a clash between second and third at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening, with Gabriel Jesus's 80th minute strike proving the difference.

One of the talking points from the match was the decision of Paul Tierney not to award a penalty to The Foxes in the first half after Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson clattered Kelechi Iheanacho in the area which left the home fans fuming.

The Brazilian appeared to punch Iheanacho in the face as he went for the ball and the Super Eagles striker had to be replaced at halftime due to the circumstance.

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards and Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp believe the referee made the right call in not awarding Leicester City a penalty.

In quotes carried by Leicester Mercury, Richards who appeared as a pundit on Sky Sports said : "It is one of them where I am a little bit on the fence, if I am being totally honest.

"I can see why a referee would give it and I can see why a referee wouldn't give it. I think if that is outside the box he gives it as a free-kick.

"I don't think he has followed through - they are both going for the ball. It is honest."

Fellow pundit Redknapp added: "It isn't a penalty for me, the other one is."

Following their win against Leicester City, the reigning champions Man City have gone seven points clear in the race for second place.
