Three Nigerian Young Stars Train With Arsenal First Team Pre-Olympiakos
Published: February 26, 2020
Apart from Bukayo Saka who is now a regular face in Arsenal's first team training sessions, two other Nigeria-eligible youngsters trained with the squad in their final workout ahead of Thursday night's Europa League round of 32, second leg clash against Olympiakos, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta ran the rule over striker Folarin Balogun, 18, and left-back Tolaji Bola, 21, at London Colney on Wednesday morning.
Saka, Balogun and Bola have all been named to Arsenal's Player List B, an additional list containing U21 players who have been on the books of the club for an uninterrupted period of two years since their 15th birthday.
Should he make his debut against Olympiakos, Bola will wear the number 40 shirt, while Balogun will have the number 38 written on the back of his jersey.
Coach Arteta is facing a left-back shortage again, with Sead Kolasinac joining Cedric Soares and Kieran Tierney in the treatment room after he suffered a right shoulder injury during the match against Everton on Sunday.
There's an outside chance that Bola could be included in Arsenal's matchday 18 vs Olympiakos.
