'We Don't Want To Lose Him Again' - Leicester Boss Latest Update On Ndidi Is Good News For Nigeria
Published: February 27, 2020
Wilfred Ndidi will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Leicester City's Premier League meeting with Norwich City on Friday night.
Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that the Super Eagles midfielder has resumed training with the rest of his teammates and he's closing in on a return to action.
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is believed to be monitoring the situation of Ndidi ahead of his squad announcement for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone and the German would be delighted with the latest injury update on his number 4.
Tomorrow, Friday will make it one month that the Racing Genk starlet last featured for the Foxes after suffering a reaction to his knee operation.
"Wilf Ndidi has been training so we’ll see how he is on Friday," Rodgers told reporters on Wednesday during his pre-match press conference.
"But if he’s not right for this week we’ll look for next week, which is good news for us. We have to be cautious. We don’t want to lose him again.
"When he came back it was deemed he was fit and he felt good, but he had a slight reaction, so we just wanted to be sure he was right.
"We need to give it that period of time. When we feel it’s the right time, we’ll bring him back in for a really important part of the season for us."

Leicester City have taken only two points from a possible fifteen without their key midfielder Ndidi in the line-up since the start of this calendar year.
