Former Arsenal Midfielder Ebiowei Scores First Goal In A Glasgow Rangers Shirt
Published: March 07, 2020Former Arsenal wonderkid Malcolm Ebiowei netted his first goal in a Glasgow Rangers shirt as their U18 team registered a comfortable 6-2 victory against Aberdeen in the CAS U18 League on Friday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Rangers' goals were spread among five different scorers, with Umaro Balde (2), Kane Ritchie-Hosler, Ross McCausland and Chris McKee also getting on the scoresheet for David McCallum's side.
Having come off the bench at halftime, Ebiowei set up Rangers fifth goal, chipping the ball to Chris McKee who fired past goalkeeper Tom Ritchie.
Twelve minutes from time, he celebrated his first goal in Rangers colours as he confidently dispatched a penalty awarded after a handball by an Aberdeen player.
Signed from Arsenal last month, Ebiowei fired blanks in previous matches against Aberdeen (Youth Cup) and Fife Elite (league).
The former Golden Eaglets invitee, who shares the same agent as Rangers duo Sheyi Ojo and Joe Aribo, opted to move to the Light Blues despite attracting interest from Premier League clubs, including West Ham.
