With a statement on their official website, League One club AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Chelsea FC for the transfer of academy player Leo Castledine.
The skillful midfielder has joined the Blues on undisclosed terms, seven years after he was snapped up by AFC Wimbledon.
Aged 14, he became the youngest player to feature for AFC Wimbledon U18 team last summer and has been capped by England at U15 level.
"Naturally, we are very disappointed to lose Leo, but we wish him every success in the future and will be monitoring his progress, " Academy Manager Michael Hamilton said.
"Leo’s development is down to not only his hard work and application, but also to all the staff here behind the scenes, so I’d like to acknowledge James, Rob and anyone else who has played a part in this young man’s journey."
Leo comes from a footballing family as his father Stewart Castledine represented AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe Wanderers before hanging up his boots.
