Published: March 14, 2020
Monaco loanee Henry Onyekuru is in contention to feature for Galatasaray in Sunday's Istanbul derby against Besiktas, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The former Everton-owned winger had been rated as doubtful for the matchday 26 fixture at Turk Telekom Stadyum.
Onyekuru participated in full training with the rest of his teammates at the Florya Metin Oktay Facilities on Friday.
The
Super Eagle received the medical green light to resume training after
suffering a right and left lower back muscle problem during training on
Wednesday.
Since
he returned for a second spell at the reigning Turkish champions, he
has been involved in six games in the Super Lig while making two
appearances in the Türkiye Kupasi.
Onyekuru
will be aiming to return to the Nigeria fold when the next squad list
is announced after he was left out of the roster for the Africa Cup of
Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone which has now been postponed by
the Confederation of African Football.
Heading
into the Istanbul derby, third placed Galatasaray are three points
behind table toppers Trabzonspor with nine rounds left to the end of the
2019-2020 season.
