Owen Hargreaves Urges Manchester United To Sign Former Transfer Target Ndidi
Published: March 14, 2020Manchester United legend Owen Hargreaves believes the Reds have to make three signings in the summer to compete with Liverpool in the Premier League and has recommended that Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi should be one of the new arrivals.
The Nigeria international was heavily courted by Manchester United four years ago but Leicester City eventually won the race for his services.
Former Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho sought approval to sign Ndidi from Racing Genk but unfortunately the Board dragged their feet in approving the request.
Hargreaves has opined that Ndidi will complement Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, who have more offensive qualities, in United's midfield.
"Bellingham is 16 or 17, he’s going to be a super player but you need someone right now," Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.
"I think they need an Ndidi type, a defensive sitter. If you have Pogba and Fernandes then I think you need a defensive one there.
"I think they also need a left-sided centre-back. They have Lindelof, Maguire, Bailly but a left-sided centre-back would make a big difference."

Ndidi inked a new multi-year contract with Leicester City after the 2018 World Cup, keeping him at the King Power Stadium outfit until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
