Former Chelsea Star Mikel Breaks His Silence After Terminating Trabzonspor Contract

Former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel has broken his silence following the termination of his contract with Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor by mutual consent on Tuesday.
In a farewell message to everyone association with Trabzonspor, Mikel admitted that terminating his contract was one of the difficult decisions he had to make.
Last Saturday, the former Nigeria captain explained that he did not feel comfortable playing football in this environment because of the coronavirus pandemic and was an unused substitute the following day in a Super Lig match against Istanbul Basaksehir.
Writing on Instagram, Mikel stated : "I would like to thank all the fans for their support. I also want to say thanks to all my teammates, technical crew, medical team and kit men Ayatabe 😉 🚬 for all we’ve achieved this season so far, wish you guys best of luck in winning the league🏆.
"It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, but in current situation we all need take care of our families, spend time with them and protect them. #lifefirst #stayhome #family".
Mikel departs Trabzonspor after playing 27 matches for the club in all competitions, logging 1,944 minutes.
