'An Excellent Trainer For Young Talent' - Hoogewerf Backed To Shine If Given Chance By Solskjaer
Published: March 28, 2020
Dutch-Nigerian striker Dillon Hoogewerf has been backed to shine if given a chance by Manchester United first team coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to Dutch journalist Henk Spaan.
Several academy products, including Mason Greenwood, have been handed debuts by the Norwegian football tactician since he took over the reins at Old Trafford, and Hoogewerf could follow in their footsteps if he maintains his discipline.
Hoogewerf inked his first professional contract with United earlier this week, a reward for his brilliant form for their youth teams.
"And now, after doing great with the Under-18s in Manchester and sometimes even joining Under-23, he signed his first official professional contract yesterday," Spaan said in his column for Het Parool.
"Apparently he has got his discipline in order at United. His example must be Mason Greenwood, one of the eleven youth players who got a chance this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. This is an excellent trainer for young talent."

Hoogewerf played three matches for Manchester United U23s in the Premier League 2 while still a 16-year-old and opened his account for the age group vs Reading in December.
