Heracles' Dessers Eyes Transfer To Europe's Big Five Leagues But Open To Switch To Top Belgian Teams
Published: April 01, 2020
Cyriel Dessers is targeting a transfer to one of the clubs in Europe's top five European Leagues but has refused to rule out joining a top Belgian team.
The Super Eagles hopeful turned out for Belgian clubs OH Leuven and Lokeren before switching to NAC Breda in the Netherlands four years ago.
Belgian clubs are reportedly looking at bringing him back to his country of birth with the likes of Anderlecht and Racing Genk keeping tabs on the 25-year-old.
With 18 goals in 29 matches in all competitions for modest Heracles Almelo, Dessers is certain to be the subject of transfer speculation in the summer.
"If a Belgian top club knocks, then I am certainly open to it. I have had a good season and I also want to realize my childhood dream: playing in a top five competition in Europe," Dessers told sporza.be.
"But if a Belgian top club registers, I would definitely listen".
Italian Serie A club Cagliari and La Liga side Celta de Vigo were credited with an interest in Dessers in the January transfer window.
