Manchester United Coach Solskjaer Urged To Keep Tabs On Bayern Striker Zirkzee
Published: April 01, 2020Manchester United first team coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been urged to keep tabs on Bayern Munich's Nigeria-eligible striker Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the opening of the next transfer window.
Manchester Evening News has identified five youngsters thriving in the German Bundesliga that United should consider signing with the Dutch-Nigerian making the cut.
The four other talents are Ozan Kabak (Schalke 04), Arne Maier (Hertha), Christoph Baumgartner (Hoffenheim) and Moussa Diaby (Bayer Leverkusen).
Explaining why Zirkzee should be targeted, the Manchester based newspaper wrote : "The young Dutch striker’s senior debut couldn’t have gone much better. Thrown on in the dying moments against Freiburg with the score at 1-1, Zirkzee scored with his first touch to win the game for the Bavarian giants.
"On his second appearance, he struck again. And as things stand, the 18-year-old has three goals and an assist from his five Bundesliga appearances.
"It’s an impressive record but Zirkzee is going to have to bide his time at Bayern, especially with Robert Lewandowski enjoying one of the most prolific campaigns of his career.
"Should he get itchy feet however the youngster could look to follow in the footsteps of his compatriots Ruud van Nistelrooy and Robin van Persie by becoming a goalscoring star at Old Trafford. "
