Ighalo On Contract Extension, Best Friend At Manchester United, Super Eagles Stars He Looked Up To
Published: April 04, 2020
Shanghai Shenhua loanee Odion Ighalo has confirmed that he has no intention of returning to his Chinese club if he's offered a permanent contract by Manchester United.
The former Nigeria international is already in the final two months of his loan deal with the Premier League side and could be forced to return to China without kicking a ball again if his contract is not extended.
Only yesterday, the English Premier League stated that the league has been postponed indefinitely owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
It is known that the Red Devils are keen on offering Ighalo a fresh deal but no contract has been tabled to him as it stands.
In a Twitter Question and Answer session, Ighalo was asked if he would love to remain in Manchester United if offered a contract extension, and he replied 'Of course'.
On the Nigerian footballer he looked up to growing up, the former Super Eagles star replied : "So many. Kanu, Jay-Jay and more".
Asked on his closest pal in the United squad, Ighalo said : "I’m close to everyone but I play more with Mata".
Ighalo has scored four goals in his first three starts for the Red Devils including his brace against Derby County in the FA Cup.
