Botafogo Offer Ex-Chelsea Star Mikel 18-Month Deal Worth N810M; Olga Gives The Thumbs Up

Brazilian Serie A club Botafogo continue to push for the signing of former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

ESPN journalist Jorge Nicola has said on his YouTube channel that Botafogo have offered Mikel an 18-month deal that would see him earn $2 million (N810 million) over the duration of the contract.

The 32-year-old stands to pocket more than the $1.6 million per season he received at his last club Trabzonspor.

Mikel's partner, Olga Diyachenko, a model who has walked the runways in Rio de Janeiro, has given the thumbs up for the defensive midfielder to make the move to Botafogo.

The stumbling block to the deal is that Mikel is insisting on being paid more money before the transfer can take place.

A Champions League and Europa League winner with Chelsea, the Super Eagles legend also lists Lyn Oslo, Tianjin Teda and Middlesbrough among his previous clubs.
