Nwakaeme : Trabzonspor Demand Nigerian Transfer Record Fee For A Player Aged Over 30
Published: April 25, 2020
Nigerian winger Anthony Nwakaeme is attracting interest from Saudi Arabian Pro League club Al-Ahli.
Turkish media outlet Ajansspor is reporting that the former Super Eagles invitee is among the reinforcements being considered by Al-Ahli's Serbian coach Vladan Milojevic.
Trabzonspor are aware of the interest from Saudi Arabia and have no intention of selling the Nigerian for less than 12 million euros.
If the asking price for Nwakaeme is met, he would become the most expensive Nigerian player aged over 30, surpassing the 4.2 million euros Ipswich Town paid to acquire Finidi George from Mallorca in July 2001.
The 31-year-old Nwakaeme was enjoying a fine season for table-toppers Trabzonspor before the Super Lig was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, scoring 13 goals in all competitions and had bagged 11 assists.
His contract with Trabzonspor expires at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
