Yeni Malatyaspor, Galatasaray, Besiktas, Trabzonspor Linked With 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Winner
Published: May 04, 2020
Four Turkish clubs are battling to sign 2013 Africa Cup of Nation-winning striker Brown Ideye in the upcoming transfer window, according to reports.
Spor44.com claims Yeni Malatyaspor have held preliminary talks with the former West Brom star over a move but face competition from Super Lig rivals Galatasaray, Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
Yeni Malatyaspor had approached Ideye at the beginning of the 2019-2020 campaign but negotiations were not successful.
The Nigeria international was against the idea of joining Yeni Malatyaspor last year but now has a change of heart having held positive talks with the leadership of the club.
The 31-year-old is in the final two months of his contract with Aris, for whom he has scored 9 goals in 26 games across all competitions this season.
Ideye has worn the colors of teams based in Switzerland, France, Ukraine, England, Greece and China since he left Nigeria in 2008.
