SC Heerenveen Line Up Replacement For Feyenoord-Linked Winger Ejuke
Published: May 17, 2020
It is looking likely that Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke will leave Dutch Eredivisie outfit SC Heerenveen in the upcoming transfer window.
Allnigeriasoccer.com previously reported that the former Liverpool trialist is on the radar of Feyenoord as well clubs in France, United Arab Emirates and China.
Should Ejuke move on to pastures new, former Feyenoord youth-teamer Joël Zwarts is Heerenveen's top candidate to replace the Nigerian, according to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad .
The Super Frisians are prioritizing a move for Zwarts after a banner season that saw him score 9 goals and assist eight others in 28 appearances for Excelsior in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
Ejuke ended last season as the top dribbler in the Dutch top-flight and showed his versatility by playing as a center forward in the last two matches before the league was cancelled.
The 22-year-old will enter the final three years of his contract with Heerenveen on July 1, 2020.
Uncapped by Nigeria, his status could change before the end of this calendar year as manager Gernot Rohr has been monitoring his performances in the Netherlands with a view to a maiden call-up to the Super Eagles.
