Galatasaray Coach Gives Thumbs Up To Signing Of 18-Goal Nigerian Striker
Published: May 20, 2020
Current Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly set the wheels in motion to sign Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers.
Turkish sports daily Fanatik claims that manager of the Lions, Fatih Terim has approved the transfer of the Heracles Almelo goal poacher and instructed the club to finalize the transfer.
Dessers made a splash in the Netherlands in the cancelled season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions, including 15 in the Eredivisie.
The 25-year-old won the unofficial top scorer award along with Feyenoord's Steven Berghuis.
In the winter transfer market, the Super Eagles hopeful was linked with possible moves to Sporting Lisbon, Cagliari and Celta de Vigo, but Heracles were not willing to do business with his suitors because they did not want to lose an important player in the middle of the season.
Dessers joined Heracles in the summer of 2019 after stops at OH Leuven, KSC Lokeren, NAC Breda and FC Utrecht.
