Ludogorets Have Competition From PAOK, Turkish Clubs To Sign Maccabi Tel Aviv's Ofoedu
Published: May 25, 2020
Bulgarian champions PFC Ludogorets are interested in signing Nigerian striker Chikeluba Ofoedu but face competition, according to reports.
Sportal.bg says the former Enugu Rangers star has offers from Ludogorets and Greek side PAOK as well as teams based in Turkey.
The 27-year-old could be departing Maccabi Tel Aviv as a free agent in the coming weeks as his contract expires at the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.
The problem for Ludogorets is that Ofoedu does not have a European Union passport and there are five foreigners on the club's payroll namely Rafael Forster, Dan Biton, Mavis Tchibota, Stéphane Badji and Taleb Tawatha.
It means a foreigner has to be axed from the roster to free up a non-EU slot for Ofoedu.
Previously, he wore the jerseys of 1461 Trabzon, Karsiyaka, Samsunspor and Eskisehirspor in Turkey.
This season, Ofoedu has registered ten goals and bagged three assists from 24 appearances in all competitions.
