Shanghai Shenhua Give Manchester United Condition To Extend Ighalo's Loan Deal
Published: May 26, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Manchester United are working behind the scenes to extend their collaboration with former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer has just five days to run on his current contract with Manchester United and could be heading back to China in the coming days if the Red Devils and Shanghai Shenhua fail to strike terms over a fresh loan deal.
Manchester United are preparing to make a new offer, with Shanghai Shenhua insisting that they must be paid a loan fee for the second transaction before the loan deal can go through.
The Chinese Super League club did not receive a loan fee when the striker joined the English Premier League side in the January transfer window, but opted to pay a percentage of his wages.
Though the last couple of days have been a bit quiet, it is confirmed that Manchester United have not given up on loaning Ighalo until the end of the Premier League season.
The 30-year-old has caught the eye and silenced his critics since his move to Old Trafford, with four goals in his first three starts.
Ighalo is contracted to Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the 2021 season.
