Bad Day At The Office For Paderborn's Collins As Dortmund's Sancho Sets New Bundesliga Record
Published: May 31, 2020
It was a bad day at office on Sunday evening for Super Eagles left-back Jamilu Collins and his Paderborn side who fell to a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of a Jadon Sancho-inspired Borussia Dortmund, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Nigerian tasked with keeping the talented Sancho at bay failed to get to grips with the trickery and finesse of the attacker and his teammates at the Benteler-Arena, with the Englishman helping himself to a record-breaking treble.
Sancho, 20 became the youngest player to reach 30 goals in the German Bundesliga history when he profited from a counter attack to beat opposing goalkeeper Leopold Zingerle for his third of the evening just before the blast of the final whistle.
Collins who went the full ninety on his part could only pick up a booking for his troubles when he caught Achraf Hakimi with a late challenge on the halfway line on the 60th minute mark.
Thorgan Hazard, Hakimi and Marcel Schmelzer were the other goalscorers for Dortmund in the comprehensive victory.
Paderborn thus, remain bottom of the table and nine points from safety as their relegation woes continue to intensify.
