Rohr Reveals What May Delay Ehizibue's Super Eagles Debut; Confident Of Luring QPR Stars
Published: June 01, 2020Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that Cologne right-back Kingsley Ehizibue does not possess a Nigerian passport and this may delay his debut for the Super Eagles.
The triple-eligible Ehizibue, who is also eligible to represent Germany and Netherlands internationally, and former Belgium U21 invitee Cyriel Dessers received maiden call-ups to the Super Eagles for the postponed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
Rohr wants to strengthen the Super Eagles fullback positions and Ehizibue, who is the third fastest player in Bundesliga history behind Achraf Hakimi (Borussia Dortmund) and Rabbi Matondo (Schalke 04), ticks all the right boxes.
"We called up Ehizibue and Dessers in the last list. There are some administrative problems with Ehizibue for his passport, I hope he can get his passport and he will play for us," Rohr told Colin Udoh in an Instagram conversation monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com.
"He is one of the quickest players in the German Bundesliga, the third quickest one. He's in a position where we still need good players."

The Franco-German football tactician revealed that some Queens Park Rangers players believed to be Bright Osayi-Samuel and Eberechi Eze are in the frame to play for the Super Eagles.
"Dessers is playing center forward. We have other players to come, we have in Queens Park Rangers also good players," Rohr added.
Nigeria's squad to the postponed AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone contained eight foreign-born players namely Maduka Okoye, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Kingsley Ehizibue, Joe Aribo and Cyriel Dessers.
