Tottenham Hotspur Backed To Sign Super Eagles Star Compared To Harry Kane
Published: June 02, 2020Italian sports journalist Gabriele Marcotti has likened Victor Osimhen to Tottenham Hotspur skipper Harry Kane.
Spurs are one of the English Premier League clubs credited with an interest in the Nigeria international, the others being Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Osimhen emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the French Ligue 1 in his debut season in Lille, for whom he scored 13 goals in 27 appearances, while recording five assists.
Marcotti is of the opinion that Osimhen and Kane can play together on the same team despite their similarities.
"I think he would be a tremendous fit for Spurs because in terms of style of play, I'm not saying he's as good, but there are obvious parallels with Harry Kane there," Marcotti said on the Gab and Juls podcast, according to Daily Express.
"He could play with Kane, he could play when Kane is not available.
"Osimhen, Kane, [Heung-min] Son, Lucas Moura, [Steven] Bergwijn, that's a ton of firepower.
"Obviously Mourinho's got good links with that club, so we'll see."

Osimhen joined Lille in August 2019 after spending the previous two and a half years on the books of Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg.
