Published: June 05, 2020
Augsburg coach Heiko Herrlich has expressed his happiness at Felix Uduokhai inking a permanent deal with the club.
The Germany U21 international of Nigerian descent initially joined Augsburg on a season-long loan, before the deal was made permanent on Thursday after the Bavaria outfit executed their option to buy him from Wolfsburg.
Herrlich has hailed the potential of Uduokhai, labeling the young central defender a talented player.
Speaking at today's press conference ahead of the German Bundesliga clash against Cologne, Herrlich stated : "He has shown his talent and the qualities he has.
"It is a good signal to the team, the fans and the club that he will stay."
With five rounds of matches to the end of the season, Augsburg are placed 13th in the table with 31 points, four more than Fortuna Dusseldorf who are sixteenth.
Uduokhai has been involved in 22 Bundesliga matches for his new club, of which seventeen were starts.
