Four Nigeria-Eligible Players Feature As Chelsea Thrash Queens Park Rangers In Friendly
Published: June 15, 2020
Chelsea thrashed Queens Park Rangers 7-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, with four players of Nigerian descent involved for their respective teams, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Queens Park Rangers trio Bright Osayi-Samuel, Eberechi Eze and Luke Amos, and Chelsea's teenage prodigy Faustino Anjorin were given minutes in the friendly.
Frank Lampard's team led 4-1 at the break with Mason Mount, Willian, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Olivier Giroud getting on the scoresheet.
In the second half, Loftus-Cheek grabbed his brace and two goals from Billy Gilmour helped Chelsea register a comprehensive win ahead of their trip to Aston Villa on Sunday, June 21.
It is looking likely that Amos's loan spell at Queens Park Rangers will be extended beyond the end of this month as he has been part of preparations and featured in last Wednesday's friendly against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
The Tottenham Hotspur loanee, whose international future has been the subject of debate in recent days, was a key player for QPR before football was halted in March, starting 19 games in the Championship.
