Former Chelsea Playmaker Olise Scores For Reading In Friendly Against Portsmouth
Published: June 15, 2020
Former Chelsea youth-teamer Michael Olise was among the scorers for Reading as they ran out 3-1 winners against League One side Portsmouth in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Sunday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Royals manager Mark Bowen handed a run-out to Liverpool loanee Ovie Ejaria and Olise at the Madejski Stadium.
Lucas Joao and Omar Richards found the back of the net to give the home team a 2-0 lead at the interval.
Oli Hawkins reduced the deficit in the second half but Olise extinguished any hopes Pompey had of staging a comeback when he netted Reading's third goal.
In the closing stages, the 18-year-old playmaker fired into the right post to make it 3-1, assisted by Kenya international Ayub Masika.
This season, Olise has featured in fourteen first team games for Reading, with ten coming in the Championship.
He has made two appearances for France U18 team and also qualifies to represent England at international level.
