Early Team News: Ighalo Named In Man Utd Provisional Squad Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Published: June 19, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo is in the frame to make his fifth appearance for Manchester United in the English Primer League when they tackle Tottenham Hotspur on Friday evening.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer was named in the traveling squad by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has already arrived in the English capital, London ahead of the eagerly anticipated clash against Jose Mourinho's team.
Ighalo made four substitute appearances for the Red Devils in the English top-flight before the season was halted in March, logging 30 minutes.
The 31-year-old has made more impact in Cup matches and in Europe, netting four goals in his first three starts.
Few people anticipated that Ighalo would succeed when he initially joined the Old Trafford club on loan in the January transfer window but he has proved his doubters wrong and was rewarded with a new deal at the start of this month.
In his first spell in England with Watford, Ighalo faced Tottenham Hotspur three times in the Premier League and found the net once.
