Ex-Arsenal Schoolboy Of Nigerian Descent Named In Southampton Matchday Squad Vs Norwich
Published: June 19, 2020
Former Arsenal schoolboy of Nigerian parentage, Nathan Tella is in line to make his English Premier League debut for Southampton this evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The 20-year-old attacking winger has been included in Southampton's matchday 20 against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
Tella will wear the number 52 jersey if he is handed a run-out by Austrian manager Ralph Hasenhüttl.
His chances of making his debut for the Saints before the end of the season are good, considering that the English Premier League now allows five substitutes per team.
Tella spent ten years at the Arsenal Academy before joining Southampton in March 2017 and is a key player for the U23 team.
He has been named in the matchday squad for the first time in his Southampton career after impressing in the training sessions leading up to Friday's match and in the recent friendly against Bristol City at St Mary's Stadium.
Republic of Ireland U21 international of Nigerian descent, Adam Idah is on the bench for Norwich City.
