In the race for Champions League qualification, Getafe missed out on the chance to go above Atletico Madrid in the table following their 1-1 draw with Eibar at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Saturday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
In the matchday 30 fixture, Stoke City-owned midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo opened the scoring for the home team at minute 30, but the two teams were level at the break, with Eibar's Charles nodding home in first-half stoppage time.
It took the Nigeria international 23 matches and 1,727 minutes in total before opening his account in La Liga since his debut against Malaga on February 5, 2018.
The Getafe number 5 is the 21st Nigerian-born player to score in La Liga and joins Elderson Echiejile, Nduka Ugbade, Brown Ideye, Moses Simon, Emmanuel Amunike and Kenneth Omeruo on one goal.
Etebo, who was replaced after 68 minutes against Eibar, recently extended his contract with Getafe until July 2020.
