Official : Stevenage Snap Up 6ft 3in Striker Effiong
Published: June 23, 2020With a statement on their official website, Stevenage have announced the capture of experienced striker Inih Effiong on undisclosed terms.
The 29-year-old is the first player signed by The Boro ahead of the beginning of the 2020-2021 season.
Standing at 6ft 3in, Effiong had attracted interest from a few other clubs after putting himself in the shop window, with 16 goals in 38 appearances for Dover Athletic over the course of the 2019-20 campaign.
In his first words as a Stevenage player, he told the club's official website : "I am delighted to sign. I had a few options on the table but just the way the Manager came in and showed me what he is about, what he wants to do, the ambition for the club and with the facilities here, everything is perfect to better yourself and go to the next level."
Effiong lists St Albans City,Northwood, Boreham Wood, Hitchin Town, Chesham United, Hayes & Yeading United, Dunstable Town, Burnham, Arlesey Town, Biggleswade Town, Hertford Town, Barrow, Woking and Ross County among his previous clubs.
Stevenage were relegated from the EFL League Two at the end of this season.
