Ostersund's Kadiri Wants To Follow In The Footsteps Of Lukaku; Club Brugge Not Among HIs Belgian Suitors
Published: June 24, 2020
Speculation at home and abroad linking Nigerian striker Jordan Attah Kadiri with a move to Belgian First Division A champions Club Brugge are wide of the mark, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
Kadiri has made a splash since joining Swedish Allsvenskan side Ostersund in 2019, scoring 7 goals in 16 games across all competitions while producing one assist.
Though several top teams in Belgium and Denmark are monitoring his situation with a view to a swoop, Club Brugge are not among his suitors at the moment.
The 2000-born Kadiri is open to moving to the Belgian First Division A to continue his development, saying he wants to follow in the footsteps of Romelu Lukaku, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke who all played for Belgian clubs in their formative years as footballers before moving to the English Premier League.
"I think the Belgian First Division A is the next step for me because they have a good league and nice people there," Kadiri told allnigeriasoccer.com.
"Players like Lukaku, Origi and Benteke, black attackers I like so much, played in Belgium. I want to follow in their footsteps."
Kadiri has insisted that he is now in tip-top condition after suffering a hip injury on the opening day of the 2020 season against Hammarby.
"I was injured in the first game against Hammarby, I forced myself to play against Sirius. I am now fit and played for ninety minutes against Orebro on Sunday. I have been training with Ostersund," he concluded.
