Odion Ighalo, who came off the bench in the 80th minute, came close to scoring but saw his effort go narrowly wide.
Bournemouth's former Denmark U21 international Philip Billing replaced Dominic Solanke in the 66th minute.
In the evening kickoff, Bukayo Saka, fresh from signing a new deal, starts for Arsenal against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium.
